InterContinental Kiev
The Intercontinental Hotel in Kyiv provides the Ukrainian capital with its first truly five star hotel and since its opening in 2009 has played host to many presidents and dignitaries. AyalawereengagedbyoneofUkraine'sleadingdevelopers to design and build the complete the interior to this 272 room hotel including the internal planning of the front of house and guestroom floors. The new building was constructed in the City's classic style on a triangular plot adjacent to the Golden Domes of St.Michael's Cathedral.
The Grand Ballroom is situated on the lower ground floor and extends below the rear courtyard of the hotel. This room with its rich classical decoration and voluminous crystal chandeliers now provides the backdrop to most of the cities prestigious social events.
The hotels comfortable guestrooms are traditional in design in keeping with the overall theme of the hotel. The mahogany case goods with ebonized and gilded details, the classic damask fabrics and the rich marble surfaces to the bar and credenza combines to create a warm and inviting, yet luxurious room.
A wide range of lighting options allows guests to create the right ambiance for rest, relaxation and work. The marble bathroom with both bath and glazed shower compartment continues with the classic theme with nickel plated accessories and elegant sanitary ware.
Kharkiv Palace Hotel
For the 2012 European Football Championship Ayala was tasked with designing and fitting out a five-star hotel in Kharkiv city for Premier Palace Group.
This northern Ukrainian city was one of four cities co-hosting the games. The construction of new modern facilities including a new stadium, new transport hubs and five-star hotel facilities was just some of the fast track projects executed prior to the event.
In the partnership with the local architects Ayala designed the hotel interior and advised on the layouts of both front and back of house facilities.
The building was some 20 storeys high and featured a central atrium. Ayala designed a contemporary yet comfortable interior that was sympathetic to the architecture and met fully the aspirations of the client and the hotel operator.
The hotel comprised of 180 guest rooms & suites, a rooftop bar, spa, Vienna café, all day dinning, meeting rooms, ballroom, prefunction, lobby, bar and shopping arcade. The hotel has a rich mix of materials from backlit onyx, selected marble, rich veneers and fixtures, fittings and soft furnishing sourced worldwide.
The interiors were installed by Alyala's own multinational team of installers build up over almost 12 years of continuous work in the region. Opening on time and within pre-agreed budget, the hotel project was a major success for Ayala and event organisers.
DONBAS Palace Hotel
Interiors International's first major project in Eastern Europe was the Donbass Palace Hotel, a member of the leading hotels of the world. This ambitious project saw a historic hotel in the centre of Donetsk demolished and completely rebuilt with facades replicating the original design. The new Donbass Palace boasts all the features of a modern five-star luxury hotel, while scrupulously adhering to the original architectural style.
Interiors International was responsible for the complete architectural planning of the new building and the interior design of the project as well as supplying and installing all architectural finishes and FF&E. The project took some 18 months to execute and required extensive on-site management to deal with a building of irregular proportion and the logistical difficulties of working in a new location with limited infrastructure.
The interior design, in a classic style, reflected both the owner's wish to have a traditional comfortable hotel, and the desire to reflect the classic exterior of the building in the new interior. The public areas of the hotel feature a mix of traditionally detailed mahogany joinery, marble flooring and column cladding with plaster ceilings and chandeliers. The result is a hotel which will stand the test of time.
Fairmont Grand Hotel Kiev
With planning consent for an office complex and works already started, on a prestigious site on the banks of the Dnipro River in the heart of Kiev's Podol area; the owners had a last minute change of heart and worked with Ayala to transform the project into a grand hotel.
The project involved acquiring adjacent sites at the rear of the building and building a book depository on behalf of the city to create a suitable footprint for the new project which incorporated the partly completed office structure.
Ayala's atrium design allowed for 420 guestrooms, which was subsequently reduced to 280 when Fairmont was brought on board to manage the property and suggest fewer but larger rooms of approximately 50 m2 each.
Ayala then worked with local architect Babushkin &Partners to create the classic façade of the new hotel and on the layouts of all front and back of house areas. The first floor atrium with its glazed roof and large banqueting facilities on the street level below were key criteria in the design concept.
Ayala then worked together with Fairmont's own interior designer and the client's own in-house construction team to prepare the detailed design drawings and specifications of the interior. The hotel was completed by client's own contracting company and opened its door on March, 2012.
OPERA HOTEL
Boutique-Hotel Opera is ideally located in the heart of Kyiv at the crossroads of the city's business, cultural and historical districts. Hotel is equipped with 140 various rooms which are furnished in a stylish and cozy manner. These rooms are performed in warm natural colours with honey-colour wooden elements and big windows which provide rooms with sufficient daylight.
Themed Suites are decorated to reflect world-famous opera masterpieces: Russian, Italian, French, Egyptian, American, Moroccan and Japanese. Each of these Suites demonstrates rich culture of these countries.
